AUTUMN/WINTER 2018 TRENDS: ALL THE KEY CATWALK LOOKS
Summertime and striped bikinis may be almost over, but keep your tortoise sunnies on because the real wild season has just begun. From extreme layering to head-to-toe animal print, this autumn/winter looks are anything but boring.
Not sure what we’re talking about ? Sit down and take notes: here are the top 3 fashion trends you’ll be wearing in two months!
1. ANIMAL PRINTS
Zebra and tiger prints covered the catwalks as the animalia du jour; leopard patterns are blending into the crowd and show no signs of slowing down. That’s right - animal spots are about to dominate the upcoming seasons and turn our wardrobe into a fashion-forward jungle.
Neutral tones are still a timeless classic, like this Victoria Beckam’s new belted trench and Givenchy’s oversized faux-fur...
...but anything from bold reds to bright yellow cheetah also seem to be fair game - see Tom Ford’s jazzy neon AW2018 collection.
So whether it be via a minimal accessory to bring out the rest of your outfit or a dramatic maxi dress for a more-is-more kind of look, make sure you join the animalistic trend this fall and invest in one of these staple extravagant pieces.

2. TWEED’S COMEBACK
Time to start sifting through grandma’s wardrobe! From matching co-ord sets to mix & match combos, tweed is another undisputable star of this autumn/winter.
Outdated, you say? Not at all. The smart, go-to fabric is experiencing a serious restyling makeover taking the trend from dowdy to fancy. Think oversized jackets worn over mini
slit skirts as per Miu Miu, or figure-hugging sets paired with shiny gold boots, as seen at Chanel.
As for one of the edgiest combinations: Todd Snyder’s autumn recipe calls for dapper tweed trousers styled with a silver statement bomber or maxi tweed coats over denim jacket and jeans.
With a new collection full of tweed bags, tweed skirts, tweed shoes and tweed anything, you can definitely see we’re loving this trend at Westgate! Check it out here.
3. LAYERS, LAYERS AND MORE LAYERS
Here’s the good news: you’re allowed to bundle up like a real snowboarder this winter and still look stylish. Throughout this year’s Fashion Weeks, designers clad their models upon three layers of coats, sometimes four; a generous trio of jumpers and half-dozen plaid shirts.
Best layering game award goes, undoubtedly, to Balenciaga - where combinations of turtlenecks-sweatshirts-flannels and parkas created an epic display of oversized shapeless proportions.
So whether you want to wrap yourself in this MaxMara camel coat or this multi layered knit dress, Westgate have got you covered. Click here, as you’re now more than ready to start planning your AW2018’s wardrobe around!
